"do you know what i'm attracted to??"
...so the fam was out taking a stroll around the lake and Ry and i get to talking about the new Robin Hood movie featuring Russell Crowe. Ry poses the question to me “why do women find Crowe so attractive?” hmmm.... i don’t think it is HIM that is attractive it is the role he is playing -- He is the gladiator, the hero and most importantly a leader. THEN our 10 year old says “do you know what i’m attracted to??” ....this should be good! “I’m attracted to David’s 3 mighty men (look up II Samuel 23) cuz they did whatever it took to get a glass of water for the King. I mean i don’t even need to know what they look like....”
that was it. she hit it on the head. having a man that will lead, loves the one true God and will stop at nothing for you and what is right. honestly i was dumbfounded that she had come to that conclusion. i knew she had seen that in her father too. Ry had a BIG smile on his face and i gave her a high five “that a girl Mack!” i pray she waits for her MIGHTY MAN...
my uninterrupted nap
today is mother’s day. i loved this day partly because i got an uninterrupted nap (thanks to a loving husband). obviously, i LOVE being a mom. it is a God-given gift and responsibility - not to be taken lightly. our children will be dependent on us, live under our roof, watch our every response, listen to our words & follow our lead for about 18 years. today after my nap... i thought...God told the Israelites countless times in the Old Testament to: not keep God’s Words and acts to themselves “do not forget the things you have seen...TEACH them to your children”, “do not forget, TELL them about the LORD”, “IMPRESS them on your children”, “TALK about them when you sit at home and when you walk”, “WRITE them on the door frames of your home” -- DO NOT FORGET THE LORD, lest a generation raise up that does not KNOW HIM.
I want our children to KNOW GOD. today i celebrate motherhood and I’m challenged by God’s purpose for me as mom. i think i need to take naps more often!
social sipping.
i started “social” sipping a couple years ago. mostly cuz i enjoy relationships and talking matters of the heart. Starbucks was on to something when they encouraged the concept of community within the cafe. now sadly i am hooked (more accurate description would probably be addicted) but at the same time i have enjoyed some of the greatest conversations with so many...
i am now the owner of my own espresso machine and God gave this little machine from heaven, ask me the God story sometime. now when you come to our home, let’s sip and share, praising God for relationships and a community of friends.
"i have fought the good fight..."
My memories of Penny only contain smiles. I can’t even think of a time i didn’t see her smiling.
I ache for friends and family grieving through the loss of such a Godly woman, wife, mother, sister & friend.
I wonder why yet hold unswerving to the truth of God’s Word .
Truly the greatest gift is to see Jesus and you have given that to her.

"baby, its cold outside..."
it is SO cold it makes my teeth hurt when i scamper outside just to get inside somewhere else. i just want to wear sweatpants all day, is that ok? i do love to wear layers. i am not complaining. the snow is breathtaking especially combined with the morning sun as it breaks. the evenings are astounding with the deep blue sky & icicles lit by the moon... i just wish i could go out and take pictures without my fingers falling off!
